Share My Story

Today is the day the Lord has made…

I will rejoice today because I have much I can share with others about what God has done in my life. God has done so much for me that I want to be ready to share it with someone who asks (1 Peter 3:26). Some shy away from any discussion about Jesus which I find odd if we call ourselves Christians.

On the other hand, I don’t believe in pouncing on unsuspecting people and force-feeding them a sermon to “repent and be baptized or they will burn in a lake of fire.” This is not really an effective way to accurately portray what Jesus is all about.

Our firsthand accounts about our encounters with Jesus are personal and unique. It might include how we became a Christian or perhaps specific times when God protected, delivered, or did something special that impacted our lives greatly. When someone asks we can share our heartfelt stories of what Christ has done for us.

We don’t have to convince others to follow Christ or talk them into becoming Christians. Christ does that. Actually, I think God  will make sure we come in contact with people He wants us to know. He will put it in their hearts to ask us questions about Him that we can answer. If we say a little prayer before we speak, He’ll even put in our mouths what to say.

“In your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to
give an answer to everyone who asks you to the reason for the hope
that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect…” ~1 Peter 3:15 NIV
