Today is the day the Lord has made…
I will rejoice today because although I don’t know what today holds, God does. There may be some surprises around the corner. When they come, I want to be sure to thank God.
Maybe I’ll receive an unexpected call from a friend or a text message of encouragement. Perhaps someone will hold the door open for me. I might be at a long line in a grocery store and a friendly clerk will say, “Come with me and I’ll check you out over here.” My favorite song may come on the radio and I can sing at the top of my lungs. What about that parking space that magically appears? Is the sun shining? Am I enjoying the weather? Did my neighbor share some oranges from his tree?
Even surprises that may not be as pleasant are opportunities to trust God. Life is unpredictable and an unexpected event may surprise us, but God is never surprised. God is always in control and working for our good. There are lessons we can learn from Him in the unexpected twists and turns of life.
We don’t know what each day holds, but God does! We may encounter a few surprises. So let’s rejoice and be ready to yield to God’s agenda, not ours.
