Today is the day the Lord has made\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

I will rejoice today because I can ask God for wisdom and He will give it to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are told that wisdom is a key to happiness (Proverbs 3:13). Wisdom is the ability to discern and judge what is good or true. Perhaps that\u2019s why the Bible says wisdom is better than gold (Proverbs 16:16). Most of us lack wisdom but not to worry. We are told to ask God for it and He will generously give it to us (James 1:5).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One way He gives us wisdom is through biblical instruction. We are told the beginning of wisdom is learning to acknowledge and respect God (Provers 9:10). We learn that wise people are humble, not know-it-alls (Proverbs 11:2). A wise person listens to advice and instruction (Proverbs 19:20). The book of Proverbs alone is full of advice for those who seek wisdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The author of Proverbs was Solomon, and although he is considered the wisest man who ever lived, there is one wiser. His name is Jesus. Jesus spoke about the queen of the south coming to hear the wisdom of Solomon, then went on to say, \u201c\u2026and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here (Matthew 12:42).\u201d He was referring to Himself. What an understatement!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus is wisdom personified. He is the very wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24). Staying close to Jesus gives us access to all His treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3). Jesus said, \u201cWhoever hears these sayings of mine and does them is like a wise man who builds his house upon a rock (Matthew 7:24).\u201d Our Rock is Jesus Christ, so we should implement what we learn from Him into our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God is eager to give us His wisdom. We just need to ask and look in the right direction!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
