I love Christmas time. So in honor of this season I\u2019d like to share one of my favorite poems by Robert Louis Stevenson. Many quote the first part of this lovely prayer, but often leave out the second section which is a shame. It says so much!<\/p>\n
Oh God,<\/p>\n
Help us remember the birth of Jesus,
\nthat we may share in the song of the angels,
\nthe gladness of the shepherds,
\nand the worship of the wise men.<\/p>\n
Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world. Let
\nkindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting.
\nDeliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings,
\nand teach us to be merry with clear hearts.<\/p>\n
May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children, and
\nChristmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts,
\nforgiving and forgiven, for Jesus’ sake.
\nAmen.<\/p>\n
