We can talk to God about anything. The point is to pray and pray often so we can keep a close relationship with God. Prayer helps us be attuned to God\u2019s voice. (John 10:27) We want God to know our voices as well. (Psalm 116:1, 2) Just look what happened to this rancher\u2026 \uf04a<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>The Rancher\u2019s Prayer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A rancher in Wyoming went out to fix a fence.<br \/>\nThe wind was cold and gusty and the clouds rolled gray and dense,<br \/>\nAs he pounded the last staples in and gathered tools to go<br \/>\nThe temperature had fallen and the snow began to blow.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">When he finally reached his pickup, he felt a heavy heart.<br \/>\nFrom the sound of that ignition, he knew it would not start.<br \/>\nSo Jake did what most of us would do, if we had been there.<br \/>\nHe humbly bowed his balding head and sent aloft a prayer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">As he turned the key for the last time, he softly cursed his luck.<br \/>\nThey found him 3 days later, frozen stiff in that old truck.<br \/>\nSo Jake went off to heaven and to him that was so sweet<br \/>\nStill he had quite a few questions when he met up with Saint Pete<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201cI&#8217;ve always heard,\u201d Jake said to Pete, \u201cthat God will answer prayer,<br \/>\nBut one time when I asked for help, He just plain wasn&#8217;t there.<br \/>\nDoes God answer prayers of some, and ignore the prayers of others?<br \/>\nThat does not seem exactly square. I know all men are brothers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Peter listened very patiently and then when Jake was done,<br \/>\nThere were smiles of recognition, and he said, \u201cSo, you&#8217;re the one!<br \/>\nThat day your truck would not start, you sent your prayer a flying.<br \/>\nYou gave us all a real bad time, with hundreds of us a trying.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A thousand angels rushed to check the status of your file.<br \/>\nBut you know, Jake \u2013 we had not heard from you in quite a while.<br \/>\nAnd though all prayers are answered, and God ain&#8217;t got a quota,<br \/>\nHe did not recognize your voice, and started a truck in South Dakota.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.barbdahlgren.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jake-the-Rancher.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2548\" src=\"http:\/\/www.barbdahlgren.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jake-the-Rancher-241x300.gif\" alt=\"Jake the Rancher\" width=\"186\" height=\"232\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Does God know your voice?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Prayers come in all different shapes and sizes.
