In Clayton, Michigan authorities arrested nine members of a Christian militia group called the Hutaree <\/a>because they conspired to kill police officers. They planned to murder a police officer then detonate homemade bombs during the officer\u2019s funeral to kill other policemen in attendance. Hutaree supposedly means Christian warriors. According to the group\u2019s website the government is our enemy and all Christians should prepare for war.<\/p>\n

Organizations that mask themselves under the umbrella of Christianity prey on people who have no idea what being a Christian really means. They misquote or misinterpret a few scriptures and people blindly follow because they don\u2019t take the time to study the Bible themselves. If they did, they would find out what Christ would do in certain situations. Real Christians follow Christ and his example. Nowhere do you read about Christ trying to kill others. In fact, it has always been God who fights our battles for us. He doesn\u2019t need us to kill others. After all, he is God. If he wants someone out of the way, he can take care of it.<\/p>\n

Many come declaring the name of Christ, but that doesn\u2019t mean they represent Christ. (Matthew 24:4-5; Mark 13:6; Matthew 7:21-23) You must look for the fruits of Christ to be manifest in their lives. True Christian warriors exemplify love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. (Galatians 5:22, 23) They are ready to stand up for truth and don\u2019t back down from declaring God\u2019s word (1 Peter 3:15), however, they arm themselves with the armor of God \u2013 not guns.<\/p>\n

True Christian warriors put on the whole armor of God found in Ephesians 6:12 \u2013 18. They know the battle is a spiritual one, not physical. They arm themselves with truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, and God\u2019s word.<\/p>\n

True Christian warriors are not looking for people to kill; they are looking for people to whom they can\u00a0extend God\u2019s hand of love.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
